Our "Redhead" Plastic Mallets are made of "Ultra High Molecular Weight" (UHMW) Polyethylene, often referred to as the toughest polymer around giving the highest abrasion resistance, impact strength with highest density ratings ensuring the heaviest weight head at any given diameter of any thermoplastic material.
Offering superb balance, control and feel, available in various shapes and sizes to suit all your panel shaping needs and used with our leather shot/sand bags can create performs with limited user skills.
Care of your plastic mallets
Mallet faces can be reshaped and dents can be repaired.
Minor surface indents can be sanded with 300 grit or higher grade paper however the sanding may leave scratch marks and cause some discolouration.
Deeper indents will require a butane or micro torch. Do not use an acetylene type torch as the carbon in the gas will severely discolour the plastic. Heat the surface using a spray painting and swiping motion with care not to burn or melt the plastic surface. Have a clean wetted cotton rag to rub the surface after removing the flame and repeat as often as required.
